Melisa joined Hagan Realty in 2016 with a goal of creating a suite of services tailored to the highly specialized needs of the equestrian community: services she found to be sorely lacking when buying her first horse farm years before. The Homestead Team grew out of the success of that vision, as horse farm buyers & sellers have welcomed Melisa and her team’s combination of real estate and equestrian expertise.
Sarah joined the Homestead Team as a veteran in the real estate industry as well as a life long equestrian and international level dressage competitor. Like Melisa, she had been frustrated by the industry’s lack of understanding and support for equestrian home buyers and sellers and sought out the Homestead Team as a platform to properly leverage her dual expertise.
Rose first met the Homestead Team as a client when she and her family were looking to sell their Maryland farmette and purchase a larger equestrian property for their horses, dairy goats, chickens, and honeybees. An avid rider and farm-owner, Rose came to Homestead with 11 years of commercial real estate experience and a wealth of project management, contractor relations, and contract expertise.
Leslie is a Maryland native and has lived across the state and in DC. She now owns a small farm in Howard County with rescued horses, pigs, dogs, and cats. She built a successful gardening business focused on ecologically sensitive practices and later branched out into home staging. Her design talent caught the attention of a DC real estate firm where Leslie worked as an agent until joining the Homestead Team.
D enise was born and raised in Baltimore and has been a life-long horsewoman with over 48 years as an equestrian; 25+ years of business and project management in the horse industry; and an extensive background in sales, public relations, advertising, engineering, graphic arts, and accounting. Denise currently owns a horse farm in Montgomery County and runs a horse rescue as a volunteer.
Jason grew up in a military family moving constantly throughout the East Coast before joining the Army himself where he served for 10 years as a helicopter pilot. After leaving the service, Jason worked for 10 years in mortgage banking before joining Fannie Mae as a project manager. He has bought, renovated, and sold numerous properties throughout the DC and Baltimore areas and currently lives on a farm in Sykesville.
Jed’s first forays into real estate came during middle school as he worked as a research assistant for his grandfather’s real estate law practice. He worked his way through college in commercial real estate and technology before going into residential real estate in 2001. Jed supports Homestead’s agents with technology, marketing, and market analytics freeing them to focus fully on their clients’ needs.
A Maryland native, Leah developed a passion for the arts at a young age. She received her BFA in painting from East Tennessee State University and has worked in a variety of fields within the visual & performing arts industries. Leah’s print and digital pieces and online marketing campaigns ensure Hometeam’s farm property listings are seen by potential buyers, often before they even know they are looking.
